Overview
Created for the Bennett 2026 campaign, this film takes the familiar political interview format and gives it a more cinematic, contemporary visual language. Built around a personal conversation with Liran, the piece combines an intimate interview with a wall of CRT televisions displaying archival media footage, creating a dialogue between her story, the media landscape and the wider public conversation surrounding it.
Challenges & Approach
The main challenge was to create a long-form talking-head piece that remained visually engaging without distracting from the interview itself. We designed the set around a stack of vintage televisions, allowing archival footage and broadcast material to become part of the frame rather than relying solely on traditional cutaways. A rich blue background, controlled lighting and a mix of wider compositions and intimate close-ups gave the film depth while keeping the focus on Liran’s performance and emotional delivery.
The televisions were treated as an active storytelling element, changing throughout the interview and visually connecting what was being discussed with moments from the media archive.
The Result
The final film combines the authenticity of a direct-to-camera interview with a distinctive, editorial visual style. The contrast between the analogue television screens and the polished cinematic portrait creates a strong visual identity, while the changing archival imagery keeps the two-minute film constantly evolving. The result is a character-driven campaign piece that feels more like a crafted short documentary than a conventional political talking head.
